Goromonzi Rural District Council has been rated poorly in terms of gender progress after scoring a measly 62 out of 350 in a rating by Gender Links (GL).
The rating card is scored out of four.
Goromonzi scored perfect scores in the presence of family friendly environment; social and recreational facilities and supporting those living with HIV.
It also had positive ratings for having gender aware HIV and AIDS policy.
However the Goromonzi had either zero or single points out of four in failing to provide equal opportunities for women in decision making positions and absence of a gender policy.
It also fared poorly in not having an equal number of councilors.
The rating by GL looks at various gender issues in Council work spaces.
These include presence of gender policy and action plan.
Number of women against men at council and participation levels.
Also considered is the presence of council economic development plan for women and presence of gender dis-aggregated data.
The level of consulting women and participation of women in planning are other areas considered.
